The Water Brothers nominated for a CSA!

The Water Brothers: Season 4 is nominated for the Rob Steward Award for Best Science or Nature Documentary Program or series at the Canadian Screen Awards.

Picture lock on The Superfood Chain.

I just finished picture lock on my second feature with Ann Shin, The Superfood Chain. 

"Every year, the western world is introduced to a new ‘superfood’ that boasts extraordinary nutritional features, and year after year we buy them. The Superfood Chain is a feature documentary that explores the facts and myths behind superfoods, and reveals the ripple effect of the ‘Superfood’ industry on farming and fishing families around the world.

Shot on location in four countries, the film features the lush landscapes of Bolivia, Ethiopia, Philippines, and Haida Gwaii in Canada, following four farming and fishing families. The documentary examines the larger issues around globalization of superfoods, including unintended effects on food security and health, sustainable farming, and fair trade food practices."

I had the pleasure of editing my 3rd season of The Water Brothers.  Always great to have the Brothers and the whole team in the suite for 7 months.

The Water Brothers wins at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival

The Water Brothers are going to need a bigger trophy case!  Congrats to the team on their multiple wins at the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.  Platinum Remi awards for 'The Pure and The Poisoned' and 'Plastic Ocean' and a Gold Remi for 'Here Comes the Flood'!

The Defector won three Canadian Screen Awards

The Defector: Escape from North Korea won three Canadian Screen Awards last night for Best Documentary, Best Direction in a Documentary, and the Diversity Award.

Congratulations to Ann Shin and the rest of the team. I'm proud to have been part of this film.

The Water Brothers nominated for an IMPACT Award

The Water Brothers episode of 'The Pure and the Poisoned' has been nominated for an IMPACT award!  Winners will be announced March 14th at the IMPACT market in Turin, Italy.  Congratulations to the team!
